ARTHRITIS

Arthritis is an inflammation of joints.

Osteoarthritis: It is a degenerative disorder where in the main cause is wear and tear of the cartilages(which help in movement) of the joints. Overweight and repeated use of the joints may also cause Osteoarthritis.

Symptoms:
  • Pain and stiffness of joints
  • Swelling of joints
  • It usually affects hands, feet and weight bearing joints
Rheumatoid Arthritis: this is an auto immune disease mainly affecting the wrist and small joints. Symptoms:
  • Pain and stiffness of joints
  • Swelling and reduced function and deformity of joints
  • Stiffness is worst during early hours of the day
Gout:

This disorder mainly affects the big toe, characterized by redness of joints, swelling and pain.
